Bergen op Zoom is situated at the crossroad of two highways:

• A58: east-west connection with the Dutch provinces of Zeeland and Noord-Brabant.
• A4: north-south connection between Antwerp (Belgium) and Rotterdam.

Currently construction of the missing part of the A4 highway between Bergen op Zoom and Rotterdam is taking place. On December 15^th, 2007 the A4 between Bergen op Zoom and Halsteren has been put into use. This means completion of the first phase of constructing the A4 highway between Dinteloord and Bergen op Zoom.
